Meet Nai (voiced by Sean Michael Teague), the main protagonist of Karneval. He is a pretty gullible kid who is around 12 or 14 years old. He claims to have always been living with a man named Karoku in a forest near Karasuna. When Karoku does not appear one day, Nai ventures outside and finds a trail of blood leading from their home to the sea, and a left-behind bracelet Circus ID. Feeling scared and lonely, he sets out to try finding Karoku with only the abandoned bracelet as a clue. Eventually Nai meets Gareki (voiced by Greg Ayres), a 15 year old boy who robs rich people to survive with his high level of intelligence and a strong knowledge of mechanics. Gareki is also an excellent gunman and he enjoys carrying around a gun. The two meet in a strange mansion where they are set up, and soon become wanted criminals by military security operatives. When Nai and Gareki find themselves in a seemingly desperate, hopeless predicament, they encounter none other than the country’s most powerful defense organization, “Circus.” After that fateful meeting with Circus, Nai and Gareki find themselves having the adventure of a lifetime as Nai sets out on his journey to find Karoku. Will Nai find Karoku and is he even still alive? You will have to find out by buying the is title on Blu-Ray/DVD from Funimtion.

Karneval is one of those shows that you will either love it or you hate it. The pacing can be a little slow at times, but overall it is filled with action, adventure and some fantasy to keep the viewer interested. Also, the voice acting by Sean Michael Teague and Greg Ayres is excellent and brings their characters to life in this anime series. This is why we here at Geek E Inc Productions give Karneval an 8 out of 10. It’s a show worth adding to your collection so go buy it now! Seriously why are you still here reading?
