Previously announced during Anime Expo, the hit anime series Demon Slayer, also known as Kimetsu no Yaiba, would be joining Toonami beginning in the fall. Today, Toonami has now confirmed when that day would come: Saturday, Oct. 12, the same night One-Punch Man will return for its second season.
The full schedule for the Oct. 12 edition of Toonami, including the exact time slots for both shows is still to be revealed at this time. Aniplex has also yet to reveal the English Dub cast for Demon Slayer as of now.
There will be a three week gap from the finale of gen:LOCK and the premiere of Demon Slayer and One-Punch Man, Toonami will be showcasing a doubleheader of Dr. Stone episodes 6-7 on Oct. 5, the same night Toonami will air the finales of both Dragon Ball Super and Gundam: The Origin.
As previously mentioned, the Sept. 28 edition of Toonami will have a Dragon Ball Super encore marathon following the premiere of the penultimate episode.
In other possible acquisition news, Funimation has confirmed that they will be simulcasting and simuldubbing the upcoming fourth season of My Hero Academia. The season premiere on YTV in Japan and on FunimationNow and Crunchyroll stateside is scheduled for Oct. 12. The premiere date of the simuldub is yet to be announced, and it has yet to be revealed if Toonami will get to air the new season at some point as well.
