The Toonami Trending Rundown for May 10-11, 2014. Batman celebrates it’s 75th anniversary of existence this year, and Toonami celebrates it by giving Beware the Batman a second chance at success, as it and every show with the exception of Shippuden, One Piece, and Star Wars TCW managed to reach either the US or Mobile App trending lists.
We also got a record number of special trends from Attack on Titan (Armored Titan, Eren and Mikasa), Bleach (Ichigo and Orihime), One Piece (Sanji and Luffy), Blue Exorcist (Shiemi), and Black Lagoon (Revy). Armored Titan and Sanji in particular also managed to hit the worldwide lists, ending a 6 week drought of such trends. Not bad at all.
In related news, Toonami aired the first of several Batman shorts for it’s 75 anniversary. And yes, as Toonami promised, the full opening for Attack on Titan is finally on the block after some technical difficulties, though I should note that due to time constraints this came at the expense of Viva Namida, at least for the interim.
