Dio: “Oh, so you still want to fight? It would appear pigheadedness runs in the family. How ungrateful can you be? You’re blatantly ignoring your grandfather’s final wishes even after he gave his life to tell you about the power of The World. Surely his pathetic pleas warranted a bit of consideration…”

Jotaro: “I have to move closer if I want to beat your sorry ass to a pulp.”

Dio: “Really? Okay then, by all means, come closer.”

–          JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders (Ep. 47)

The Toonami Trending Rundown for July 28-29, 2018. It’s time for the big showdown, as Jotaro begins his battle against Dio, while All Might comes to the rescue against the Tomura Shigaraki-led villain assault against UA Academy, and Komugi has a game of Gung-gi against Meruem, among other great moments.

On Twitter, the several week trending drought comes to an end, as Toonami would trend in the US alongside Pop Team Epic, JoJo’s and Hunter x Hunter. Meanwhile on Tumblr, #Toonami would trend alongside #BHNA, #JoJo, and #Hunter x Hunter.

This week’s feature was a Toonami AMV titled Ferromagnetic Flow. You can check it out below:

With Attack on Titan’s return just two weeks away, and with only 2 episodes to go until the premiere of Diamond is Unbreakable, Toonami will be seeing some major changes within the next few weeks. First off, One Punch Man will have another encore run beginning on August 11 at 2:30 am, a week after Space Dandy completes its encore run. Lupin the 3rd and Cowboy Bebop will switch their timeslots to end off the block at 3 and 3:30 am respectively. And on the big night of August 18, Toonami will be expanding to 10 pm with My Hero Academia leading off the charge, while Attack on Titan begin season 3 at 11 pm, and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure will remain at its current slot at 12:30 am. In addition, with FLCL Progressive’s encore run also coming to an end on the 18th, and FLCL Alternative’s run not for another 2 weeks (and August 1 most likely having a Labor Day Weekend marathon), the August 25 edition of Toonami will showcase a doubleheader of Attack on Titan for the 11pm hour, with an encore presentation of the season 3 premiere as well as the premiere of Episode 2.

Other Toonami related news from this week include:

In addition, I have been working on releasing articles from San Diego Comic-Con and Anime Expo for the past few weeks, and my first interview featuring Jason DeMarco, Kari Wahlgren, Maki Tereshima-Furuta, and Mitsuhisa Ishikawa has just been published. You can check it out by clicking here. I will also have interviews with Megan Taylor Harvey and Steve Blum, as well as reports from Comic-Con and Anime Expo posted once I have the time to finish them.

Tune in next week as My Hero Academia showcases the finale of season 1, while JoJo’s showcases the penultimate episode of Stardust Crusaders, among other great moments. Until next week, stay gold as always.
