“What have you done…how could you. What did you do to my BULMAAAAAA! […] Mark my words, Beerus. Mark them well. You’re going to suffer for what you’ve done.”

–          Vegeta, Dragon Ball Super  (Ep. 07)

The Toonami Trending Rundown for February 18-19, 2017. Another good night of the better cartoon show as the Z Fighters prove no match against Beerus in Super while in Kai, the crew prepares for the World Martial Arts tournament, while Kurapika plots his revenge against the Phantom Troupe, and Brook mourns the last days of the Rumbar Pirates, among other great moments. On Twitter, Toonami and every show would successfully trend in the US during their respective East Coast airings, as well as worldwide. During the primetime presentation, both Dragon Ball Super and Samurai Jack would also trend in the US as well. And on tumblr, both Toonami and Dragon Ball Super also successfully trended.

Dragon Ball Super’s buzz would create a character trend in Bulma as she slaps Beerus, not pleased that his anger over not getting any pudding and not finding any leads on the Super Saiyan God is ruining the festivities of her birthday party, much less threatening the end of the planet. Beerus responds by slapping her back, causing Vegeta to rage and go after Beerus in disgust.

And for a record fourth week in a row, and for the sixth time in seven weeks, Dragon Ball Super made it to Nielsen Social’s top 5 most talked about shows on Twitter and Facebook, rounding out at the #4 spot. This is the 13th time a Toonami show has made it onto the list since we started recording this feat on the trending rundown.

We’re less than 3 weeks away from the return of Samurai Jack, and on that note, Adult Swim will be hosting a Samurai Jack premiere event on March 9th in the Theatre at Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. Attendees will be seeing a special presentation of the beginning of the new season and will have a Q&A session with Genndy Tartakovsky, among other things. Tickets are free, but space is limited, so if you’re in the LA area and want to go, click here for more information and to RSVP and represent the faithful.

Until next week, have a Happy (Late) Presidents Day, and see you again next week for another round of the better cartoon show. Later.
