According to Deadline.com, Toonami and Crunchyroll have finalized a deal to collaborate on licensing content, co-productions and distribution opportunities. Here’s what Jason Demarco said about the announcement:

“Our partnership with Crunchyroll will open up exciting new possibilities for both of us. This will expand Toonami’s already great programming to include even more premiere and original anime. It’s a great time to be an anime fan!”

Here’s what Crunchyroll General Manager Joanne Waage had to say:

“Our mission is to grow anime globally, which makes Adult Swim the perfect partner as Toonami has been incredibly influential in the growth of anime here in the U.S. We can’t wait to show our fans what we have in store for them through this new programming partnership. Expect new co-productions, expanded distribution of dubs, and generally more accessible anime!”

You can thank the reshuffling of Warner Media for the merger. As many are saying on Twitter, this just makes sense to do in the long run. Toonami is now positioning itself to be around for a long time now and to make the block even better. We are excited about this here at ToonamiFaithul.com.
