Back at it again is the Muay Thai Warrior himself Rolando “Jargon” Valdez and just like I said before, Jargon comes hard on his new album “The Crystalline EP.” Taking into account this is Jargon I am talking about, his beats and lyrics are smooth and fluid like a cobra getting ready to strike at that critical moment and it leaves you completely paralyzed. To explain this album, it has a laid back and mellow flow to it, but it still packs the power of a well-timed khao loi in a Muay Thai match. This is what I love about Jargon’s style its versatile and makes you want to expand your mind with sick bass lines and well placed percussion riffs with some soulful undertones, that remind me of a time when I didn’t have a care in the world. Being that my boy Jargon is the other half of Cypha 360z I wouldn’t expect anything less from him. I have to say that I enjoyed some of his earlier music such as “Aku Soku Zan” but after listening to “Akhilleus” I found a new favorite. This is what I love about Jargon and the genius of the Cypha 360z crew they find some way to put in a reference that pays homage to historical figures whether they are from mythology or real. I give Crystalline an 8.5 out of 10, but only because I wanted more tracks. I found it to be solid and more than worth the listen.
