The Toonami Trending Rundown for September 20-21, 2014. 6 years to the fateful day of Toonami’s original cancellation, the block is alive and well, although this night hasn’t had much to show for it as only Cowboy Bebop was the only Toonami related trending topic for the night.
Unfortunately it’s a record low for the trending efforts since I started recording the trending rundown almost 2 years ago. Personally I can’t say much on what’s going on other than Twitter might have changed their algorithms for trending topics or Saturday Nights are becoming an increasingly becoming filled with buzz-worthy events, especially with the College Football playoffs and all. We’ll, that or the curse of Toonami having a rough trending night when a premiere show showcases it’s second episode continues.
We’ll, what else can I say other than let’s hope the ratings will be good regardless and things will start picking up again next week. Speaking of next week, Toonami will showcase the grand finale of Space Dandy, while Star Wars TCW also gives it’s last hurrah on the block. Let’s set the Dandy out with a bang. Edit @ 9/22 1:00pm PDT: I have some breaking news for you, unfortunately Toonami has just announced that both Beware the Batman and Sym-Bionic Titan will be “written off” financially by Cartoon Network’s legal department, which means unfortunately like Megas XLR, Toonami will no longer be able to broadcast those shows. However, this Saturday from 2:30am-6am EDT, Toonami will marathon the remaining episodes of Batman, so look forward to that as well.
