The Toonami Trending Rundown for July 2-3, 2016. With this being the Independence Day weekend, Toonami has opted to air the first 7 episodes of Hunter x Hunter for those that were late to the party or needed to catch up. As a result, Toonami and Hunter x Hunter trended for a good portion of the night and during both East and West Coast airings.
Plenty of good stuff that came out of Anime Expo this year, especially news that relates to Toonami. Of course one of the biggest news to come out of AX is that during the Toonami panel on Friday, it was announced that on July 16 at Midnight EDT, the hit anime series One Punch Man will join the block. In terms of social media buzz, both Toonami and One Punch Man both trended in the US that night. Some other notable news include Intruder III coming this November, a behind-the-scenes look on Samurai Jack season 5, a new trailer on SAO Ordinal Scale, a new season of Blue Exorcist, the Pillows returning to FLCL, just to name a few.
Tune in next week as Samurai Champloo showcases the series finale, among other great moments. Until next week, have a Happy Independence Day and stay gold.
