The Toonami Trending Rundown for January 25-26, 2014. FLCL ends it’s repeat run with a bang as while we had some heavy competition going on within the Twitterverse, Toonami managed to do well regardless as every show with the exception of One Piece, Ghost In The Shell, and Star Wars TCW managed to reach the US trending list. In addition, #SwordArtOnline also trended worldwide; and during it’s west coast airing, Space Dandy also trended US and Worldwide. But perhaps the biggest trend of the night, Kirito trended worldwide as he and Yui spotted Asuna’s location, entered the “World Tree” mission to try and get to her and died in the process, got rescued and revived by Leafa, and to top it all off, the two found out the real life identities of each other…Kazuto and Suguha. Things sure are gonna be rough for him in these last 3 episodes, that’s for sure.
If you haven’t heard the news, we now know what is scheduled to be Soul Eater’s replacement: Black Lagoon will begin it’s Toonami run on March 22nd. This hasn’t been officially confirmed or answered, but assuming that both The Second Barrage and Roberta’s Blood Trail are included in the show’s run, this will be on the Toonami schedule for 29 weeks. It’s timeslot is yet to be announced, though if it’s expected to air at 1:30am Eastern, we’re gonna have ourselves a nice pirate hour along with One Piece. AARGH. Interestingly enough, Blue Exorcist’s March premiere date still remains a mystery, despite that SAO’s Season 1 finale is just a mere 3 weeks away. Who knows what else they got in store?
Tonight’s new promo was a followup of the AC4 review as Sara reviews the Assassin’s Creed 4: Freedom Cry DLC, and gives it a 8.5 out of 10. No “aarghs” from Sara this time around, but all I can say is that both TOM and Sara are going to need to learn to share or get two of every console, or this relationship (or lack thereof) just might get nasty.
In the meantime, tune in next week as Samurai Jack makes it’s grand return to Toonami at 4am Eastern, while FMA Brotherhood shows it’s penultimate episode. And just to let you know, OG Naruto will be bumped up to 2:30am while Ghost In The Shell also moves up to 3am beginning next Saturday.
