The Toonami Trending Rundown for February 6-7, 2016. Bit of a tough night for trending with all the pre-Super Bowl festivities going on, but fortunately every show had managed to trend in the US during their respective East Coast airings. On the other hand, the DBZ Kai encore did not trend and we have no character or in-show content trends to report this week.

Little note regarding Naruto Shippuden, in that with the broadcast of this week’s episode (98), Toonami has officially surpassed the episode count Disney XD had when they originally aired Shippuden. Of course, with 448 episodes of Shippuden and counting, we still have a lot of Naruto left to go, but we look forward to what this great franchise has for Toonami next.

Tune in next week as Akame ga Kill! showcases it’s penultimate episode, among other great moments. Until next week, have a Happy Year of the Monkey, congratulations to the Denver Broncos for winning Super Bowl 50, and stay gold.

  1. Congrats to “Shippuden” on Toonami. I like the show and the characters, even if I have not enjoyed the story lines lately. I’m still looking forward to the future with this show, provided Toonami sticks with it.

I’m also anticipating Toonami’s announcement of the new show that will replace “Akame Ga Kill.”

Finally, it doesn’t look like the Faithful is making a big deal of the #SamuraiChamploo hashtag, even though the YouTube primer video (not to mention the Toonami bumper) specifies that the hashtag is #Champloo. Would someone at the Faithful please address this? One hashtag is “official,” but the other hashtag has been “trending.” What should we do?
