Just announced during the Toonami panel at Anime Expo, the hit anime series One Punch Man is indeed coming to Toonami. Based on the webcomic by the author using the pseudonym “One”, and also made into a manga illustrated by Yusuke Murata being published on Shueisha’s Young Jump Web Comics, the series was adapted to a Anime series last year to rave reviews and popularity in Japan as well as viewers watching the subbed version as it came out late last year.
The premiere date of OPM will be on July 16 at Midnight EDT, the week after Samurai Champloo wraps up its Toonami run, and will have a length of 12 episodes. The trailer can be seen below:
Earlier during the Viz Media panel, the English dub cast was announced:
- Saitama – Max Mittelman
- Genos – Zach Aguilar
- Mumen Rider – Robbie Daymond
- Speed O’Sound Sonic – Erik Scott Kimerer
Chris Cason will serve as the ADR director.
In addition, there will be a special concert, the ONE PUNCH MAN Matsuri, on Saturday from 3:30pm – 5:30pm at Hall B, which will include a presentation of the first episode of the dub.
