Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is doing very well at movie theaters worldwide, and while some information about the film’s box office grosses is correct, other information on social media is not. Let’s dive into how Demon Slayer is really doing at the box office.

First, let’s take a look at the box office grosses here in the United States. As you can see from the numbers below, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is doing really well in the United States, grossing over $100 million domestically and currently coming in at #16 on the highest grossing movies of 2025.

The reason this matter is that there seems to be confusion with mixing up the domestic grosses with the international grosses, which is where Infinity Castle is making just over 77% of its worldwide box office gross. A breakdown of Domestic, International, and the worldwide total can be seen below.

Demon Slayer has made just over $400 million internationally and that number continues to grow as we speak. Because of its popularity overseas, Demon Slayer has now become the 9th highest grossing movie of 2025 worldwide. This has caused some confusion with people assigning this ranking to domestic grosses, which, as you can see, is not the case. The movie has also beat some of the biggest films of 2025, including Sinners, Captain America: Brave New World and even Fantastic Four. By the time we reach Sunday, October 12, Demon Slayer may even overtake Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning. It’s worth noting that as grosses have been updated with international totals, Demon Slayer has not beaten Superman and F1: The Movie. As of this article posting, Demon Slayer has entered China which should significantly boost its international grosses.

At the end of the day, Sony has a hit movie on its hands and Demon Slayer will not only be the highest grossing anime films in the United States, but in the top 10 highest grosses movies of 2025 worldwide. It’s especially remarkable considering it’s an animated film, which demonstrates the larger trend of anime becoming more mainstream, both overseas and in the U.S. It’s clear that this will not be the last anime movie we will see Sony bring to theatres and I wager that other studios may try to do the same in the future. I, for one, am all for it! Let’s hope this trend continues into the future and we see other anime movies hit these numbers in movie theaters.
