The Toonami Trending Rundown for May 24-25, 2014. DBZ makes it’s grand return on Toonami with the film Cooler’s Revenge as every show including Dragon Ball Z but with the exception of Attack on Titan and Naruto Shippuden reached the US trending lists, while Cooler’s Revenge also trended worldwide, and it and Sym-Bionic Titan reached the mobile app trending lists.

We also got some special character trends from Attack on Titan (Colossal Titan), Coolers Revenge (Bean Daddy, Gohan, Piccolo, Saibaman, Super Saiyan, and Special Beam Cannon), Naruto Shippuden (Sasori), One Piece (Impel Down and Sanji) and Black Lagoon (Revy). DBZ in particular has set a record of such trends with 6 different characters or in show content, though AOT still holds the record for a single regular episode with 3 in it’s first two weeks.

In addition, in a first, Toonami for the first time reached the Facebook trending lists as both Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z trended as news of the block bringing in the long anticipated DBZ Kai. Yes, for those that didn’t hear the news from Momocon, DBZ Kai will indeed be returning to the block this fall. It is not yet known what will it replace or if it will coincide with any schedule changes, but several of the block’s current shows will be finishing up it’s run by that time period.

Monday will mark the 2 year anniversary of the block’s revival, and things are looking up for both Toonami and the anime industry in the west. This could be the start of something special.
