This week’s episode opens with a man, whose trouble sleeping is indicated by the numerous sleep-aids on the nightstand, waking up and is startled by an image of an eye with tiny, white lights connecting like a constellation. We switch to Team Lazarus who also discover this image in Dr. 909’s hacked data file from Delta Medicinal, who were in charge of the Hapna’s clinical trials. Eleina learns an employee at Delta Medicinal uploads music weekly to SoundCloud but the “music” is the clinical trials data for Hapna, thanks to Doug asking for the file to be opened as an image and Hersch’s reaction to the information. Doug gives a suspicious look toward Hersch after the quick recognition of the data and I have no doubt she hasn’t been entirely truthful about her identity. Eleina reaches the conclusion that the files being uploaded to SoundCloud is a way to reach out to someone, who could be Skinner, so they are now on their way to get answers from Delta Medicinal.

The team is looking for a way inside a building with impressive security measures with no luck from Leland, Chris, or Doug’s ideas on infiltration. Leave it to Axel to do things in a simple manner which is walking brazenly into the building! Axel is joined by four security guards on the elevator, leading to a breathtaking fight reminiscent of Captain America: The Winter Soldier when Steve Rogers found himself in a similar situation with members of Hydra. I’ll give the woman security guard a round of applause for being the one last standing but unfortunately for her, Axel’s hands are rated E for Everyone. Axel makes it to the penthouse where the man at the beginning of the episode is sitting, demands the security system to be shut down, and proceeds to show the clinical trial data via a holographic device. The man is revealed to be the president of Delta Medicinal and the person uploading the files to SoundCloud, confessing that this was a method to try to reach Skinner. He says Hapna was tested on monkeys before beginning human trials and the image of the eye that was shown at the beginning of the episode is the result of the monkey who recently died from Hapna. Delta Medicinal has not developed a cure but Team Lazarus has an idea to get Skinner’s attention: a fake conference claiming to have a cure. I feel that this scene alone has two plot holes: the scene felt abrupt and made me question, “How did we get here?” The second plot hole was the team knowing the man was the president and that he was responsible for uploading the files to SoundCloud. Again, “How did we get here?” I felt a simple voice over from Hersch or Eleina could’ve given us a better explanation rather than expecting the viewer to extrapolate that information, making for a smoother transition to the second half of the episode.

Team Lazarus and Delta Medicinal take various security measures in preparation for either a spy or hacker trying to enter the conference. The “cure” has GPS trackers if someone tries to steal the vials and Eleina has left an opening to the basic network for the hacker. While there were distractions like the blackout and a man injecting himself with “cure”, the hacker, who looks very much like Amethyst from Steven Universe, was able to hack Delta Medicinal through the security guards’ walkie-talkies. Eleina patiently waits as a backup plan comes into play, which the hacker, named Popcorn Wizard, begins downloading a fake file containing the antidote to Hapna. After learning the file was fake, Popcorn Wizard tosses a laptop over a cliff, ending Eleina’s location tracking endeavors. The episode ends with Eleina getting a surprise call from Popcorn Wizard, singing praises to almost getting caught. The fake conference did not bring out Skinner but we got to experience the closest we’ll ever get to an older version of “Radical” Edward. I do believe Popcorn Wizard is helping Skinner and I’m eager to know if we’ll see her again. Hardcore!

This episode was not as exciting as episode four, with the exception of the elevator fight. I do hope the plot holes resolve themselves better in future episodes so elements of the story will connect and make sense. I have to mention there was no police officer this week but our cat friend was lying on the sidewalk at the beginning of the episode so the gag continues. Next week is all about a cult and Eleina’s past so this should be interesting!
