The Toonami Trending Rundown for December 13-14, 2014. Week 2 of the month of movies gives us the finale of Hellsing’s run on Toonami in addition to the showcase of FMA The Sacred Star of Milos, as both shows in addition to Samurai Jack trended in the US while FMA Milos also trended worldwide. Furthermore, we were also treated to promos for next week’s films: Akira and DBZ: The Legend of Broly, and both shows also trended in the US.
In addition, Hellsing also produced two character trends, Alucard (as he, for lack of a better term, gets cursed by Schrödinger’s blood and needed 30 years to rid himself from him) in addition to Seras (as she fought through the Zepplin to get towards the Major), making sure Hellsing ends it’s Toonami run on a high note.
Hellsing Ultimate Trending Retrospective
After 10 weeks of Alucard and the Hellsing Organization putting Nazi Vampires in their place, and despite some technicalities, Hellsing Ultimate’s run on Toonami is finally in the books. The first time since the block’s revival that a full OVA series has been apart of the lineup, anime’s most infamous vampire sure brought the heat in many ways, and all I can say is what a joyride it was.
In terms of the show, Hellsing managed to trend on Twitter during 4 out of 10 weeks of it’s run in addition to a promo the week prior to the start. Hellsing’s buzz also produced 5 different character trends during it’s run: Alucard in 5 occasions, Bruce Willis, Integra, Rip Van Winkle, and Seras in 3 different occasions.
