Some new lineup news broke this week as fans await what will be joining the block soon. Toonami has a plan for the first two weekends of February, but they will need to announce a couple of new acquisitions soon, which creates an air of excitement. And who knows, maybe a series that announced their plans for their latest season will be joining Toonami relatively soon. But while you speculate on what you’d want to air on Adult Swim, check out all the latest news in the newest installment of This Week From Toonami!

This week Toonami updated fans on what the block will be doing for their schedule on the first two Saturdays of February, with both Made in Abyss and Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon having hour-long season finales. On Feb. 4, Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon will take control of the 1 a.m. hour, giving One Piece the night off with the rest of the schedule staying the same. Following that, Made in Abyss will air from 12:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m., with no new show joining the block to replace Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon. These updates make fans curious about what Toonami will have planned in the future, considering fans’ optimism after the My Hero Academia announcement. Make sure you stick with Toonami Faithful, as when we know, you’ll learn what new series will be joining the block!

During Toonami’s most recent broadcast, fans were treated to a new “We Won’t Be Intimidated By Criminal Threats” bump, delivering the classic Toonami feel fans love to experience. In it, fans can see what the current lineup looks like and hear a great song to help capture the imagination fans feel with every AMV the block makes. It’s always a pleasure to see these types of videos, and we love that a new one was published for fans to enjoy!

Stop us if you’ve heard this before, but Attack on Titan’s final season will have more than one part to it. This swan song is rivaling Bleach and Gintama at this point. This week, NHK announced that Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 would air in two parts beginning on March 3. We are unsure about the length of each piece currently, but there is some speculation that the second part might be an anime special instead of a season of more episodes. Still, it needs to be clarified what to expect, but at least on March 3 a new season of Attack on Titan will begin. Could this mean that it might find its way to Toonami soon? It would fit, considering two timeslots have opened up around the same time, and with how fast this series is dubbed in English, the wait for Toonami fans might be shorter.

Something we missed from last week (that’s what we get for doing these articles early) was that there will be a new season of Made in AbyssA sequel to the popular second season has been green-lit, so fans have more exploring to do in the deep abyss as Toonami fans race to see where the story leaves off after a very emotional season. It will take some time to have it ready to air for the U.S. audience, but the prospect of more Made in Abyss being made and potentially airing on Toonami has to have fans feeling pumped about the property as a whole!

Crunchyroll announced the nominees for their seventh annual Anime Awards. While only a few series on Toonami made the cut, one, in particular, has been nominated for 12 categories. That series was Attack on Titan, which was only second place to Spy x Family (which deserves more, if we are being honest). However, Made in Abyss’ second season, as well as One Piece, was nominated in a few other categories, giving Toonami fans a few series to vote for in the latest Anime Award season. Voting is open until Jan. 25, and fans can vote for their favorite choices daily. The following winners will be announced during a presentation in Japan on March 4, and others will be announced during its global live stream.

Bandai Namco Entertainment streamed a story trailer for the upcoming Sword Art Online: Last Recollection action role-playing game this week. In the trailer, fans get a more in-depth look at what they can expect to play as this game gives its version of the War of Underworld arc that we are sure many Toonami fans remember. It’s just another piece of content for Sword Art Online fans, who have been getting more and more as the title celebrates its long history of being at the forefront of many anime fans. If you are interested in picking up this game, you’ll have to wait till later this year, and it will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

And Bandai Namco Entertainment wasn’t done as they made another announcement for another game Toonami fans might find interesting. The company announced their newest DLC character for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle R game, which will be Rudol Von Stroheim. So far, there has yet to be a date given for when this new character will be available.
