News is scarce when talking about Toonami in more ways than one. While there wasn’t much Toonami-related series news to cover, the block itself is quiet on what to expect for this Thanksgiving weekend. Many wondered if Toonami would announce a marathon or if Adult Swim would continue to run its regular schedule for that Saturday. This quiet period continues to leave many in the dark, wondering what’s going on at Adult Swim (causing the typical panic you get from many doomsday personalities). Right now, Toonami plans to have a regular schedule, leaving many to ask, what’s airing at midnight? The rerun of My Hero Academia’s fifth season concluded, meaning there’s an open slot available. Due to how late this announcement will be, we may be looking at a new series joining. It’s tough to say with a lot of red tape and powers at be, leaving Toonami caught in the middle. Hopefully, we will learn soon, and Toonami Faithful will keep you updated as soon as we find out. But without further ado, check out the latest edition of This Week From Toonami!

Are you a fan of mobile games and Black Clover? Was it a combination you have been looking for since the dawn of time? Luckily, the publisher for Black Clover M: Rise of the Wizard King, Garena, has you covered and will release the game globally in select markets. Beta testing for the title will begin soon, and the company streamed a short trailer to get fans ready on what to expect! Fans should expect Black Clover M: Rise of the Wizard King to become available in 2023 for iOS and Android devices!

For its second week in the U.S., One Piece Film Red earned over $12 million at the box office, creating a massive $151 million total worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo! This film has been an enormous success for One Piece and anime films in general, breaking the stigma that animated movies aren’t popular in this country. We hope that our fans and readers have been able to check it out and continue to support One Piece as Toonami continues to broadcast it on their block!

Sword Art Online continues to stay in the spotlight among fans in the U.S. Fresh off of its successful trip to the Japanese box office (again), it will now take that over to our country for its second film. At a 10th-anniversary panel at Anime NYC, Sword Art Online The Movie – Progressive: Scherzo of Deep Night will debut in the U.S. in February 2023! Sword Art Online’s Twitter account posted a new trailer dubbed in English. In that same panel, it was announced that the first Progressive film will stream on Crunchyroll as it will be available to buy physically on Jan. 19, 2023. And not to be outdone, Yen Press announced a slew of new titles set to be released, including Sword Art Online: Progressive – Scherzo of Deep Night (the exact same title as the film). So if you’re curious about what this second Progressive film will be adapting, you’ll soon have a chance to read it courtesy of Yen Press.

One of the biggest panels at Anime NYC was the premiere of the first episode of Trigun StampedeA new trailer debuted to get fans excited, and many are leaving the event happy seeing how the animation looked for the new series. While it will stream on Crunchyroll, we thought it would be fun to highlight what many will be talking about from the last convention and give some readers of ours more interest to check it out when the public can see it. We are glad to hear of the positive reviews about the project and hope that this new Trigun anime can capture the hearts of many like the previous anime did.

Toonami Faithful is happy to report that we are back to covering conventions! This weekend Anime NYC entertained fans all across the globe, and we were lucky enough to have Marion “microwaevy” Peña and Varun “VLordGTZ” Gupta (who represented a different entity) at the event to keep track of everything anime fans would want to know. We could not be more thrilled at the coverage they provided and if you’re curious about what they saw, make sure you follow them on Twitter to see all the fantastic news items, manga announcements, and even a cosplay thread. Plus, Marion will be doing a full convention report for their time at Anime NYC on our website, so be on the lookout when that is published!
