“Fu….sion. HA!”

–          Goten and Trunks, Dragon Ball Z Kai (Ep. 138…or anytime they perform the Fusion Dance.)

“We are witnessing the birth of the warrior who will defeat Majin Buu.“

The Toonami Trending Rundown for November 3-4, 2017. The countown begins as Toonami premieres its newest Total Immersion Event in Countdown. And among other great moments, Goten and Trunks learn their signature Fusion technique, while the Tekkadan forge relationships with Gjallarhorn, and Gene enters the Heifong Space Race.

It would be another 10 for 10 night on Twitter as all shows successfully trended in the US during their respective East Coast airings, in addition to Countdown after its airing to kick off the block as well as Toonami. Meanwhile on Tumblr, Dragon Ball Super, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and Hunter x Hunter would all trend.

Finally, Dragon Ball Super’s big fight between Hit and Goku would help the show continue strong with fans, as the show makes it to Nielsen Social’s list of the daily top 5 most talked about shows on Twitter and Facebook, ranking at the 3rd spot. This is the 25th time that DBS has done so so far and the 39th time a Toonami show has made it to this list since we started recording this feat.

This week’s feature was episode 1 of Countdown, which you can check it out below. As with all Total Immersion Events, a branding change was made to commemorate the occasion, and the hosting has been put on auto-pilot, so to speak, as TOM and SARA attempt to solve the conflict at hand. While TIEs in recent years have been occurring yearly during November, according to Jason DeMarco, this will be the last TIE for the next year and a half, as he has mentioned “Because we want the next one to be the BIGGEST, best thing we’ve ever done. It’s gonna take some time! Hopefully it’ll be worth it.”

And speaking of DBZ, the final week of Countdown will take place during Thanksgiving weekend. While Toonami opted not to have a Thanksgiving marathon last year, this year, they will opt for one on the night of November 25 as the block will have an encore run of Episodes 131-140 of DBZ Kai.

In addition, following this week’s airing of Lupin the Third, Richard Epcar, the voice of Jigen, along with Ellen Stern and Jose Argumedo had a Q&A session with Lupin fans. The session was broadcast on Discotek’s Periscope, which you can see below.

And here’s a bit of Toonami Trivia for you. On last Thursday’s broadcast of the Jeopardy Tournament of Champions, one of the categories caught the eyes of many anime fans, as it went into the topic of manga. Some of the clues from the category involve several shows that have previously aired on the better cartoon show.

Tune in tonight for Part 2 of Countdown, among other great moments. Until then, have a Happy Veterans Day and we give our thanks to those who have admirably served this great nation, and for those who got an Xbox One X on Tuesday or getting one in the near future, hope you enjoy it and here’s to another great era of gaming to come.
