If you want more data, you can check my spreadsheet here and look for the latest tab “Heaven Piercer” That will have further data including per year difference and HH differences as well as overall gains and losses for each time slot and average ratings per slot.
Let us know what you think in the comments below about the ratings.
So beware the Batman pulls the views down…again :/
At this point, I think that 2:30 is a down slot by nature, and everything that gets put there gets smoshed between the “traditional” end of premieres at 2:00, when a lot of people leave, and new viewers (in the form of the nocturnal/west coast crowd) coming in at 3:00. It’s why Beware itself beat Black Lagoon many of those weeks when it was at 3. Also, it could be why they’re premiering Hellsing Ultimate at 3, as they may not want to take a risk by having it start off in the weak early slot.
On the plus side, at least Black Lagoon managed to bring virtually all of the viewers back from Batman’s drop. That’s pretty damn impressive.
That one piece drop though…good ratings overall and still catching up which is nice to see. Keep spreading the word about Toonami on the streets and on the web.
What 75k in the demos that count? Less than the drop between OP and Gurren.
It does seem rather less, but I’m just glad that the late summer ratings are improving.
I love One Piece, but I think its got to be pushed back and another show should take its place. For some reason One Piece doesn’t attract views here in the States and it’s affecting the rest of the block as a result.
I feel like the issue with One Piece in the states is that people are forgetting about DVRs and how you are not supposed to fast forward them on first run. Also I suggest you check out the Unofficial One Piece Podcast on itunes where Josh from FUNimation is interviewed. One Piece by far has been their best product to date on sales and merch. I know it’s hard to believe, but One Piece is working as number one at 1:30AM every Saturday night.
I dissagree with your reasoning on why it isn’t doing good. I believe people simply just don’t care to watch it late at night, and as for DVRs I think that affects alll the shows that air late not just One Piece. soo that not a good excuse. But the idea of it just playing too late for anyone to watch is better. I laos feel One Piece has lost its steam on Toonami anway
Even if that were the case about DVRs we still don’t have those numbers and they could be higher. I don’t think One Piece hasn’t lost its steam unless you are the kind that deludes only to punch first, talk later. Then, I can see people losing interest due to short attention spans. Also the fact that One Piece got a promo and has grown in popularity is another factor; again I refer anyone to listen to the Unofficial One Piece Podcast on itunes and their latest episodes at Cons or interviews with Josh from FUNimation. I think people can get the idea that One Piece is in a rise it’s just not showing up on the web, but in public instead.
Seriously one piece is doing amazing,it is winning the demographics for it’s time slot every single week!
God I hope Hellsing Ultimate pulls in the views…
Attack on titan impressive numbers. Bleach, Dandy, shippuden all did great, good turn out for black lagoons finale. Lets hope hellsing can pull good numbers are 3:00.
Should I be looking forward to Hellsing?
Hmmm…that’s a good question. A lot more darker than Black Lagoon and more gory action. Good action though.
Sounds good. Really looking forward to it.
