  1. Kind of a drop compared to last week, but at least One Piece still beat Blue Exorcist, so so far no need for a time change for One Piece, lets keep it up and maybe when Space Dandy ends it can take Shipppudden time period

    • There was never a need for a time change in the first place. Regardless if the show posted numbers that didn’t do well for a couple/few weeks.

      • yeah i realize tha, I was just saying, I want it to start where Shippudden time slot is when space Dandy ends or if we can the 11 hour move Shippudden to 11, and put One piece @ 12:00

  2. Realistically the majority of the shows this week weren’t that outstanding, excluding OP compared to a lot of the previous, so these higher ratings are especially good.

  3. While not as impressive as last weeks, these numbers are still pretty good. No show dropped below 600,000. So I’d call it a fair night for Toonami.

  4. What is adult swim thinking why would they only give toonami Saturday it’s hardly going to bring in new fans with 1 day, wtf we should spam adult swim to give us Friday anime too.

    • I rather keep it this way because, lets be super honest there isn’t much out right now to run everyday. A lot of shows run on a 26 ep right now with the expection for shows like One Piece, Toriko, Pokemon, Naruto, Bleach, FMAB, Soul Eater, ect. Those shows run past the 26 ep limit and keep things interesting day to day, but with not enough content out don’t you think we would get hit by too much reruns? The only shows people are requesting now for later in the future are DBZ, DBZ, DBZ, and DBZ, jk lol well DBZ is on that list; being serious now along with Attack on Titan, Kill La Kill, Toriko, and probably other classics. I really would want to see new content especially from our industries here in the Americas, is there not like a cartoon in South America popular right now people here would want to watch? Or any Marvel shows or DC, how about something original? I love what Asia can give for sure, but come on North and South America we can try to do better. Keeping it Saturday is good enough for me and the content we can keep control of.

      • If you read my comment I only said Friday not the entire week, two days is way better than 1and they do have enough content for two days.

          • But the problem is most of the shows are on a time when most kids are asleep, the way things are now I doubt toonami making new anime fans. Without new fans toonami could be gone in the near future.

          • I wouldn’t really put it on Toonami to make people new anime fans. [adult swim] knows who they’re aiming for… and given their name, do you think it would be towards children? 😛

          • Toonami only came back because they did a April fools throwback and the nostalgia came into effect and adult swim jumped on the nostalgia train. Meaning old fans where remembering their childhood days when toonami came back, if you look at ratings they get worse every year so there are hardly any new fans. The only reason I watch toonami is because I would hate for it to be cancelled again because of ratings. Notice how dbz or Naruto became the popular cartoon to watch on tv and it was only because it aired on cartoon network not on 11 on a Saturday where most people are either out or asleep.

          • The problem is this; the shows they have on. Look at how they talk, the action, and the language they wouldn’t want kids/young teens at that early time 6pm-8pm watching that stuff. Plus Adult Swim if anything gives Toonami more control over their content t release badass movies like Akira or Summer Wars. I don’t blame you because when I was younger in Elementary/early middle school Rurouni Kenshin was edited to take out the blood and so was DBZ, the bikini edits, alot of other stuff too. Big O was edited. Even One Piece was edited and we saw how that turned out. It’s not going to fly running anymore, because that’s how the Anime culture is in Japan and we want to be as original as the Japanese anime without the big man telling us no you can’t show that to kids. Awareness and the internet are the best options. I mean see people on Crunchyroll talking about Toonami, even Facebook, Tweets, Social Media is the way to get new peeps talking. Talk to your friends about it and don’t be afraid to spread the word.

  5. Oh Soul Eater we will miss you greatly 🙂 I had fun with the show, though I can see why people are kinda bothered with the end. For one I guess showing Medusa in snake form in the background did kinda made it look like there was more to be expanded on for a second season. Then Kid mentioning Humans will continue to wreck havoc meaning there was even more room for more villains. We saw Death stow away the Kishi so that arc is over for sure. Otherwise yea I wasn’t so bothered by the end, they left room to expand, but I rather let it keep how it is because towards the end in the last few weeks it was getting kinda difficult to watch because of the pacing so that happened. I still enjoyed the final episode as the first time watching it especially the montage and Maka’s speech.

Great week we kept on par, now we welcome Black Lagoon this week. Like always keep Tweeting, Tumblr, Facebooking, Vining, Instagraming, and Street-cred Toonami.

  6. Is it bad that that drop in ratings during the transition from Soul Eater to the original Naruto is making me happy?

    • Well it’s still amazing considering its been airing since 2005 that’s 9 years I’m just surprised they keep on showing ‘re-runs I guess it’s just that popular.

  7. Good ratings, but what i would love for toonami to do is bring back soul eater, and sword art online, but put them in a later time slots like maybe the 3-4 area, that is if they still have the rights to air them, and if they would keep them long enough for the shows to completely air, and finish, I don’t see why not they’ve aired the crap outta full metal, so why not soul eater, and sword art online? IGPX, and ghost in its shell i believe are near there end, but i’m not sure tho correct me if i’m wrong, so they could just take their places. Just a suggestion 🙂

    • They would’ve done the same thing with Deadman Wonderland, Casshern Sins, and maybe Tenchi Muyo! GXP if that were possible. Unless it’s a special case like IGPX, The Big O Season 2, and Sym-Bionic Titan, the general rule about shows is that once it has completed a full run, the show is taken off completely and they lose the rights to it. Whether or not they could bring it back for reruns after that is all dependent on the licensor.

      • Very true. I wish they would rerun some of tho’s for the later slots but one can only dream. :p I hope igpx, and ghost in it’s shell, gets replaced tho don’t feel like watching tho’s anymore lol.

        • IGPX and Ghost in the Shell getting replaced isn’t very likely, at least not right now.

IGPX is a show that the Toonami crew considers very dear to them. It was their first (and so far, only) original show produced by them for Toonami, and they fought tooth and nail to get it back after Cartoon Network wrote the show off. Add in the fact that the DVD releases for the show are now out of print (you can thank Bandai Entertainment for that), and chances are, we’ll probably be seeing this show getting another run or two (not counting the current one).

Ghost in the Shell hasn’t had a chance to air full run on Toonami yet. It was unceremoniously taken off to make way for InuYasha reruns, and didn’t come back until Cowboy Bebop finished its millionth run. It’ll probably be airing all the way up to the second season’s last episode.

          • Oh i see. I love Ghost in the shell it’s just that i’ve seen that anime so many times already, but it does fit the lineup, but as for IGPX not much of a fan of it but that’s just my opinion, but it does bring in decent ratings for the time slot it’s in. 🙂
