It seems that Toonami has made an effort to get shows that have been highly requested, but can’t get the TV license to them at the moment. Answering a question on his Ask.fm, Jason Demarco, head of Toonami, said he they couldn’t get the TV license to three shows: My Hero Academia, Mob Psycho 100 and The Ancient Mangus Bride. You can see the full question and answer below or by clicking here.

We hope this changes in the near future. What do you guys think of the news? Let us know in the comments below.

  1. Considering My Hero Academia is one of the primary reasons people are paying for Funimation’s dub service, they have no reason to give it to Toonami anytime soon. Maybe once the momentum finally slows down. Better late than never, ya?

  2. All the ones mentioned are super, red-hot commodities right now. ‘Black Clover’s dub is great, tho’ (I’m thankful)! I have a request, but it’s probably divisive, too. What happens if a show loses it’s rights? Or it’s in 2 pieces. The pilot with back-story is the 3rd arc/story from a disc that lost it’s lic. The rest is the spin-off of that story (that became its pilot). Toei produced BOTH parts. I cosplayed the character at a comic con, and was super-popular (UN-EXPECTED). It’s a horror genre show. It’s getting popular, even though its first ep is missing (on C-roll). You have a ‘relationship with Toei w/DBZ, I assume? Any chance of my dream coming true, Paul and Jason? -CJ
