Just announced via the official Toonami tumblr, Toonami will be airing a 12 episode Attack On Titan marathon August 30th for Labor Day! The only other series that will air that night is Space Dandy, which will start off the block with a new episode.  Will you be watching the Attack on Labor Day marathon? Comment below on your thoughts on the marathon!

  1. Well….not sure. I’ve only not watched Toonami 1 week since it returned and that was only because I was too sick to leave my bed and couldn’t get close to a TV or my computer. But I don’t need to see those episodes a 3rd time just yet…we’ll see.

  2. I personally won’t be staying up the whole night just to re-watch the whole first half of Attack on Titan. However, I still think this is good think because not only is it Labor Day weekend (and ratings tend to drop a bit on holidays), but also because it gives people a chance to watch any episodes they missed the first time.

There’s also Space Dandy world premiering at 11:30 PM, which it hasn’t done since before Attack on Titan came and practically usurped the timeslot from it while it was in reruns.

    • And that’s the time slot Space Dandy actually should be premiering at. I mean Attack on Titan still needs to be on at an early time in the night, i just think that Space Dandy should be the front runner being that the episodes are world premieres.

      • There’s also the fact that Toonami has a show like Family Guy as its lead-in now. It’ll help draw in tons of viewers, but the mood whiplash between Family Guy and Attack on Titan might turn some people off. Space Dandy, being a mix of comedy and action, would provide a good transition from regular [adult swim] hours to Toonami.

        • Yeah i agree the transition from Family Guy to AOT is a bit harsh. When Space Dandy was originally in the first spot it was a good formula, they shouldent have moved it in the first place. All they would have to do is just put AOT in the second or third spot and it would work out just as well.

  3. Lets be honest I enjoy this news because that means people can tell other people about the series and be caught all on one night. Hold a party, anything to get viewership and good times going. I’m all in for the idea no doubt.

  4. I’m going to catch the new Space Dandy episode, but i don’t plan on watching the marathon. I was really hoping that labor day would be used for a movie night, i don’t really feel like this marathon is necessary. In the case of Space Dandy or Cowboy Bebop those mini marathons made sense, but to me this just feels like a waste of scheduling time but that’s just my opinion.
