Shinobu: “If only humans and demons can get along with each other. Wouldn’t you agree Tomioka?”

Giyu: “That’s a pipe dream. As long as demons hunt us.”

–          Demon Slayer (Ep. 15)

The Toonami Trending Rundown for Feb. 8-9, 2020. As the block begins condensing during these next three weeks as Fire Force goes into its off-season, the better cartoon show continues strong as Demon Slayer begins the Natagumo Mountain Arc.

Among the notable moments of the night, My Hero Academia saw Deku and Sir Nighteye catching up to backup Mirio, who managed to rescue Eri but sustained major injuries. His quirk was also disabled by Overhaul’s special bullets making things look bleak for Lemillon. However, Overhaul was not going to give Eri up without a fight as he severely wounded Nighteye in battle showing how powerful the yakuza boss is. Sword Art Online would see Gabriel and Vassago logging in to the Underworld with accounts as the leaders of the Dark Territory. With an unquenchable lust for bloodshed (even killing his childhood friend Alicia to see what would happen to her soul), Gabriel rallied the guilds of the Dark Territory to wage war against the humans and the Axiom Church as he and Vassago begin their search for Alice. Wanting peace between the two sides, both Lipia and Shasta tried to stop the conflict but were quickly silenced by Gabriel and his minions. And in Food Wars, Subaru challenged Takumi to a food war featuring lemon cakes. Takumi wagered his cherished mezzaluna knife putting his pride on the line for this Shokugeki. Despite wowing the crowd with his cake, Subaru’s tactics of stalking and intimidation proved to be too much for Takumi, as the judges ruled in Subaru’s favor with his cake. Despite Soma being next on Subaru’s hit list, Soma has not been intimidated by his bullying, as he risks his enrollment at Totsuki to stop Subaru and give everyone their knives back.
