As stated in this Tumblr post, Toonami will be losing the 5:30AM time slot this Saturday and will be losing the 5:00AM time slot the following week. Toonami will air 11:30PM-5AM for the foreseeable future and the schedule will be adjusted accordingly.

Attack on Titan is taking a week off allowing everything else to move up a half hour this Saturday. The following Saturday, Attack on Titan will return to the block at 2:30AM following Deadman Wonderland while Bleach, Space Dandy, Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell shift back to the 3:00AM-5:00AM time frame and both IGPX and Samurai Jack will leave the line-up.

Samurai Jack’s final two episodes will stream on AdultSwim.com the week of January 31st to make up for pulling the show early. IGPX will go on hiatus for the time being but both shows may return at a later date.

The reason for these abrupt changes is unfortunately, ratings concerns. Adult Swim has decided to shorten Toonami and resume comedy programming with an hour of King of the Hill in order to increase Saturday night’s ratings.

As of this time, Toonami is not in danger of cancellation but the block may or may not shorten further.

In light of the upcoming schedule shift, they are not certain what time slot Kill La Kill will end up airing in but there has been no confirmation the show’s arrival has been delayed later than February 7th.

According to Jason DeMarco this sudden change does not affect their plans for Intruder II or affect Toonami’s current budget.
